Hanil established Woodeok Foundation in November 29, 1983 to return business profit to our society. It started with the name of ‘Samcheonri Foundation’ when it was established, but it changed its name into ‘Woodeok Foundation’ in January 29, 1992 naming after place name ‘Woodeok-ri’ which is the nickname of the founder and at the same time the parent factory of Hanil Cement, Danyang Plant is located in. Woodeok Foundation was established to provide scholarship for cultivating talented people, support research activities for social benefits and social welfare organizations for developing welfare state. It goes with establishment philosophy of Hanil Cement saying ‘to contribute to nation and the people through business.’ Woodeok Foundation gave approximately 15.6 billon won scholarship to about 100 universities abroad as of the late 2014.
In 2011, Hanil Holdings founded the service group WITH (We Increase The Hope) to practice its business principle of sharing and lead the effort to create a world in which people can prosper together. WITH Service Group, composed of Hanil executives, employees, and their families, deliver food to elderly people living on their own every month. In addition, the group oversees social service projects in diverse areas, including providing support to social welfare organizations, participating in environmental clean-up efforts, and offering scholarships to students. Furthermore, WITH provides services customized for various regions and beneficiaries, such as tree planting, farm service, blood donation, coal briquette delivery, farm equipment repairs, river clean-up, storm damage reconstruction, and many others. Through the projects offered by the company service group, Hanil executives and employees practice sharing year-round.
